The Powai campus in Mumbai is L&T’s oldest facility, as well as one of the most diverse in terms of employee strength and operations. Along with the L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, Heavy Engineering and Construction business offices, the Powai campus houses world-class Design and R&D labs and an Experience centre – Planet L&T.
The new A M N Tower at Powai is a smart building covering 1.03 million sq. feet built-up area. The tower has several unique features from IoT-based building management systems to smart work-places, digital ceilings, and integrated security management. It is a “Platinum” certified Green building, offering 23% energy savings over regular commercial buildings and has a roof top solar PV of 80 KW. This campus also leads the way with several environment conscious initiatives from rainwater harvesting to e-waste segregation and organic waste composting.
The Powai campus offset its entire GHG (Green House Gases) emissions in 2016-17, thus becoming Carbon Neutral. Part of our Sustainability Roadmap 2021, carbon offsetting and energy efficiency of L&T campuses is a key objective and one that we continuously work towards.
