The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and NSDC have initiated a well-structured skilling programme across the country to achieve this. One of the key success factors for this programme is the need to have high calibre trainers who can successfully convert the youth into a highly skilled globally competitive workforce. L&T’s Skill Trainers Academy (STA) located in Madh, Mumbai is a step in this direction.
Trainers play an important role in the skilling ecosystem. They mould the future of our youth in the right direction to create a globally competitive skilled workforce. Effective training is a valuable skill for a trainer. For, trainees can be only be as good as their trainers. Apart from domain skills and delivery skills, a trainer also requires soft skills and life skills. The skills and attributes that a trainer possesses would together determine his/her training style. In order to increase the effectiveness of skill-training programmes, it is essential that those entrusted with imparting these skills be trained to do it in a way that is easily grasped by the trainees. The Academy has world class infrastructure with well-equipped classrooms, laboratories and workshops. It also offers a residential block within the campus.
We shall strive to develop high-calibre dedicated trainers who will work in the skilling ecosystem and develop a skilled workforce to lead the way to making India the skill capital of the world.
We will impart holistic training to skill trainers to enable them to deliver high quality training focused on domain, quality, safety and productivity and make skill training aspirational among the youth of the country.
